In tensioning devices for polyester strapping, also known as dispenser tensioners, the various types mainly differ based on the processable strap width and the quality of construction. The standard version accommodates strap widths from 10 to 19 mm and can be used with polyester strapping (glued, woven, and composite), as well as PP strapping and, in some cases, even PET strapping. The next strap width category ranges from 25 to 40 mm, or even 50 mm. For lashing straps, which represent a special type of woven strapping as disposable lashing straps, the LS-Lash HD is the standard model. Unlike "regular" polyester strapping, lashing straps are not secured with metal seals but with double-buckle closures, which means the lashing strap tensioner does not include a cutting tool, unlike the dispenser tensioner.
